Daniel Ike Dubec, 59 years old of Taylor, Texas, went home to the Lord Monday, August 6, 2012, surrounded by his supportive family.
The third of seven children, Danny was born September 11, 1952 in Granger, Texas. He is best known for his selfless spirit, his amazing devotion as a father, homemade pickles from his garden, and a lifetime of musical talent. Beginning as a young teenager, Danny played the bass guitar for multiple bands and was the lead guitarist and vocal with his four brothers in their Basic Country Band for over 15 years.
Danny was preceded in death by his mother and father, Cecilia and Albert Dubec of Austin, and brother-in-law, Dwayne Mercer of Bartlett.
He is survived by his loving daughter Stacey Williams, and her husband Michael of Hutto; six siblings, Albert Dubec Jr. and wife Mary of Pflugerville, Cecilia Mercer of Bartlett, Billy Dubec of Austin, Albin Dubec of Bartlett, Cynthia Haesler and husband Jeff of Wisconsin, and Robert Dubec of Austin; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger.
