Ronny Dlouhy “R.D.”, 64, of Taylor, Texas, reunited with his eldest son, Shannon Dale, on Monday, July 16, 2012.
He was born August 19, 1947 to Benjamin “Bennie” Sr. and Emma Marie (Heinzke) Dlouhy in Taylor, Texas. Ronny was the oldest of 12 children. As the oldest, he took care of his siblings growing up and was protective of them even into adulthood. Ronny married the love of his life, Linda (Mazoch) Dlouhy on January 6, 1968. They had their boy generation of children with Shannon born first, and soon after came Shawn. Ten years later his girl generation of children arrived, with Shala being born, shortly followed by his youngest, Shelly.
Ronny was drafted to the United States Army in 1967. In his early years, he worked with his father and brothers at Dlouhy Sheet Metal. Shortly afterwards, he established Dlouhy Steel Fabrication where he worked until his passing. He was a member of the Taylor Rodeo Association and Knights of Columbus.
R.D. was an exceptionally unique person. He had a deep love for his children, grandchildren, and family. R.D. never met a stranger, and his personality was one that brought smiles and laughter to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. He loved cooking, swimming, hunting, fishing, and camping, especially with his immediate family. Most of all, he adored and loved his four grandchildren. His homemade chicken noodle soup will be intensely missed by all.
