Ruby Naivar Howerton

Ruby Naivar Howerton, 90, of Taylor, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012. She was born March 15, 1922 to Gottleb and Mary (Rieger) Riethmeyer.

Ruby enjoyed making wedding cakes, sewing and quilting. Friends might remember her assisting them at the House Jewelry Store.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Lygie Naivar and Jim Howerton, daughter-in-law DeVonna Naivar, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

She is survived by her children Glenn Naivar and wife Sally, David Naivar and Trish Haverland and husband Doug, all of Taylor. Ruby is also survived by her grandchildren Craig Naivar and wife Michelle of New Braunfels, Heather Jezek and husband Scott of Round Rock, Heath Haverland and wife Brandy of Kyle, Jason Naivar and fiancé Ashley Albers of Houston, Sarah Manuel and husband Matt of Syracuse New York; great grandchildren Jordan and Gunner Naivar of New Braunfels; sisters Esther Gilmore of Georgetown and Delores Naivar of Taylor, and sister-in-law Mildred Riethmeyer of Taylor.

A special “Thank You” to Rita Huser and Agnes Mallek for their care given to Ruby.

Pallbearers will be Craig Naivar, Jason Naivar, Heath Haverland, Scott Jezek, Bobby Naivar and James Naivar.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.

Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 22, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s School Trust Fund or St. Mary’s Building Fund.
