Betty Fern Marshall

Betty Fern Marshall, 81, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in Temple, Texas. Betty Fern Marshall was born May 6, 1931 in Taylor, the daughter of Rudolph and Ruth Nickerson Christianson. She was baptized in 1931 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church and was confirmed in the First United Methodist Church several years later, where she has been a member all of her life.

On March 2, 1951 she married Brady F. Marshall, Jr. who preceded her in death on June 19, 1983. Fern was a Big Taylor Duck Fan and she and Brady followed the Ducks for many years and were very active in the Duck Booster Club. She was also an avid Cowboy fan!

Her greatest joy was her children and her 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. They gathered at her house for all occasions. She loved to cook for everyone. One of her big hobbies was making her “Hot Sauce” and must given thousands of quarts to her friends. She was employed at the Taylor Daily Press for 36 years retiring when she was 70 years.

Survivors include her son, Jeff and his wife Judy; daughter, Debra Marshall, and son , Chris and his wife, Vickie; seven grandchildren, Melissa Marshall Davies and husband, Tyler, Kelly Hamann and wife Stephanie, Jake Marshall, Tanner Hamann, Matt Marshall, Ryan Nicole Marshall, and Brady Marshall; two great grandchildren, Bryce and Brooks Davies.

Memorial Services to Celebrate her Life will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 15, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home Taylor, Texas.
