Myrtle F. Faykus

June 25, 1925 — May 29, 2012

Myrtle Marie Finch Faykus was born to Ervin and Nancy Finch, in Milam County, on June 25, 1925. She passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the age of 86 in the Scott and White Hospital in Taylor, Texas.

Myrtle was a nurse in Taylor and the surrounding area for over 40 years. Her devotion, commitment and loyalty to her profession were greatly admired.

Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Faykus. She leaves behind a daughter, Norma Jean Hargrove and 2 grandsons, Jeffery and Craig Hargrove. Also surviving Myrtle are her stepchildren: Blaine Faykus and wife, Susan, of Taylor; Denise Michna and husband, Jimmy, of Georgetown; Katherine Stolle and husband, Jack, of Taylor; Bonnie Tomecek and husband, Bennie, of Salado. Myrtle will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Trenton and Kelsey Faykus, Trissa and Rhys Michna, Kristie McKinnon and husband, Ben, Scott Stolle and wife, Sara, Terrill Tomecek and wife, Irene, and Wendy Nattin and husband, Scott. Myrtle also leaves behind several great-grandchildren. Her love and kindness to them will not be forgotten.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 4, also at Providence Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Taylor City Cemetery following the service.
The family is very grateful for the prayers, the food, the visits and the words of comfort from Myrtle’s many friends.
