Helen M. Pospisil

Helen M.Pospisil, 85, of Taylor, Texas passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Granger Villa Nursing Home. She was born on August 3, 1926 in Granger, Texas to Charles and Annie (Zbranek) Horak. On March 8, 1945, she married M.W. (Jessie) Pospisil in Granger, Texas.
Helen was an excellent seamstress along with embroidering quilt tops for her family. She was an outstanding cook and baker, her specialty being baked goods and her famous kolaches. Helen had some of the prettiest elephant ears and flowers in her yard. She also received yard of the month. Helen was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society, KJZT, Catholic Daughters, and SPJST Lodge 29. She was a volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Store.
Helen is survived by her son Jesse Pospisil and wife, Linda of Taylor and daughter Peggy Dewbre and husband Kevin of Comanche, Texas; granddaughters, Tammy Whatley of Georgetown and Cristy Girod and husband Mike of Elgin, grandsons, Matthew Dewbre of Bedford, Texas and Michael Dewbre and wife Holly of North Richland Hills, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Collin Whatley, Brandon and Hailey Girod, Kaylie, Riley, Hayden and Emma Dewbre. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie, her parents, one sister and three brothers and one grandson.
Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor on Monday, February 27, 2012 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, with rosary following. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Monsignor Lonnie Urban will be officiating.
