Frances M. Biar

Frances Mildred Biar, age 94, was born on October 30, 1917 in Thorndale, Texas to Emil Heintze and Emma Noack Heintze. She was baptized on November 18, 1917 by Rev. A.W. Kramer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. When Frances was 14 months old, her mother passed away due to the flu. Her uncle and aunt William and Bertha Felfe Heintze raised her. She attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Thorndale and was confirmed on March 29, 1931 by Rev. F.H. Stelzer.

On October 11, 1936 she was united in marriage to Gerhard Biar, Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran Church by Rev. F.H. Stelzer. They lived in the Thorndale area all their life. She was a homemaker and also worked with her husband on their family farm. Later in life they moved into town, building a home on the lot originally owned by her father. Frances enjoyed baking cookies and coffee cakes for her family and friends.

Frances passed away January 4, 2012 in the Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her uncle and aunt, step-mother Flora Kohler Heintze; two brothers, Alvin “Pop” Heintze and Edward Heintze (infant); one half-brother, Milton Heintze; one half-sister, Mildred; son-in-law, Jerry Fisher; and her husband of 57 years passed away on June 1, 1993.

Frances is survived by daughters, Shirley Wuensche and husband Leroy; Geraldine Biar and friend Victor Yurk; Donna Fisher; sons, Billy Biar and wife Lou; Jerry Biar and wife Linda; eleven grandchildren: Karlen and Larry Watson; Debbie and Bubba Cepak; Dena and Norman Ebeling; Darren and Shannon Biar; Gavin and Kimberly Biar; Brian and Michelle Fisher; Terry and Bethany Fisher; Jason and Lori Fisher; Rhonda and Craig Jordan; Tina and Scott Schaefer; Mark and Julie Biar; 25 great grandchildren: Matthew Watson; LeShell and Matt Reeves; LaNae Cepak; Eleesha Ebeling; Ethan, Jacob, Michaela and McKenna Biar; Elise,Samuel and Isaac Biar; Weston and Hailee Fisher; Devin and Logan Fisher; Mason Fisher; Tyler and Paxton Jordan; Riley and Ashton Schaefer; Skyler Sumner; Ryan and Nathan Biar; step great grandchildren: Daniel Avila and Gabriella Moreno; two great great grandchildren: Emily and Fender Reeves; half-brother Allen Heintze, half-sister Joyce Barchenger, a foster sister, Erma Felfe Niemtschk; extended Felfe Family and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Larry Watson, Bubba Cepak, Norman Ebeling, Darren Biar, Gavin Biar, Brian Fisher, Terry Fisher, Jason Fisher, Craig Jordan, Scott Schaefer and Mark Biar.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, January 6, 2012 at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale, TX. Rev. Jim Mann will officiate. Burial will follow at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
