Charles J. Steinocher, 83, of Hutto, died Sunday, September 25, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 2, 1928 to Vaclav and Anna Steinocher in Moulton, TX. He was married to his wife Dolores MacKenzie on October 21, 1950 in Chicago, IL.
He joined the Army Air Corps at 18 and after getting out of the service, he went to Chicago, IL where he received training in heating and air conditioning. Soon thereafter, as a result of the Korean War, he was recalled to the Air Force (achieving the rank of SSG). After completing his second stint in the Air Force, he learned the floor finishing business and later owned Estes Floors. In 1970, he and his family moved back to Texas where he continued in the flooring business until he retired at age 70.
His great love, after his wife Dolores and his family, was his farm in Coupland where he raised a large garden and steers. In 2003 he moved to Hutto and planted a small nursery of fruit trees.
Charles is survived by his wife; four children Linda Hunt of Hutto, TX; Charles (Adrienne) of Broken Arrow, OK; Patricia Steinocher of San Antonio, TX; and Suzanne (Ronnie) Huber of Taylor, TX; his sister Stella Nelson of Austin, TX; and 7 grandchildren, Gary and Kerry Lumpp (Linda); Joseph (Katy), Elizabeth and Anna Steinocher (Charles); and Jimmie and Jennie Vrabel (Suzanne).
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jim, Frank and John, Jarosiav and sisters Mary and Anne Steinocher.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Providence Funeral Home.
Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Providence Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Masses will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Austin Hospice for their care and support over the past several years.
