Raymond Paul Vanek, 75, of Taylor passed away Friday, July 22, 2011.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Providence Funeral Home with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M.
Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Raymond was born January 3, 1936 in Milam County to Joe and Rosie (Pindur) Vanek. Raymond was a conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed antique cars, tractors, trains, sports and playing dominoes. Raymond also enjoyed his riding mower that he used to mow several acres and get around at his farm. He served in the U.S. Armry in Germany and in the Army reserves. Raymond was a member of the KJT, American Legion, and the United Transportation Union. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Margaret Pospisil and Mary Richter.
Raymond is survived by his brother, Joe Dobias; nephews and nieces, Richard Walker, Steve Richter, Kenneth Richter, Douglas Richter, Gregory Richter, Jane Gatlin and Laura Koliba; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Richter, Kenneth Richter, Douglas Richter, Gregory Richter Ryan, Richter, and Richard Walker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Pfeil, Frank Kotrla, Earl Gatlin and Kurt Koliba.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or School , 408 Washburn, Taylor Texas 76574.
