Effie Dorothy Machu, 85, of Taylor, Texas died at Park Place Care Center in Georgetown, Texas on Sunday, July 17, 2011.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor, Texas with the Rev. B. G. Niemtschk officiating. The burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
Effie was born at Taylor, Texas on August 20, 1925, the daughter of Frank Krueger and Emma (Synatzske) Krueger. She was predeceased by her parents and one sister, Nora Mary Sue Richter. Her husband of 33 years, Eugene Edward Machu, also predeceased her on May 20, 2002.
Effie was retired from the Travis State School after 20 years of service. Effie loved listening to music and going dancing at the SPJST. She always looked forward to going to have coffee with all of friends in the afternoons. She enjoyed spending time with her great-great nieces and nephews who have nicknamed her “Aunt FeFe”. She is loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Effie is survived by two sisters, Irene Werchan and Tuddie Hurta and her nephews, Ralph Werchan and his wife Linda, Garry Hurta and his wife Cynthia, and Tim Richter and family, one niece Wanda Smith and husband Charles. She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and by Eugene’s brothers and sisters and their families, Johnny Machu, Howard Machu, Melba Reopke, Mildred O’Brien, and Lorene Machu.
Pallbearers will be Willam Werchan, Ethan Werchan, Johnny Machu, Felix (Buster) Pavlicek, Howard Machu, and Gene Roepke. Ethan Machu will be serving as honorary pallbearer.
