Minnie J. Helble

Minnie Julia Cervenka Helble, our special aunt, passed away Tuesday evening, July 5, 2011 at Johns Scott & White Hospital in Taylor, Texas, just 22 days short of her 107th birthday.

Minnie was born July 27, 1904 to Frank and Rose Machu Cervenka. She attended grade school on the Cervenka farm.

She met her future husband, Johnnie Helble, at Klecka Drug Store in Granger. They were married June 27, 1926. They spent their married life in Houston where Minnie was a homemaker and later worked many years at a gift shop. She retired to Georgetown to be near family and later moved to Granger to care for her sister, Rose. Minnie kept an immaculate home and loved cooking and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961; her parents; 3 sisters Annie, Cecile and Rose; 7 brothers Emmit, Joe, Raymond, Johnnie, Frank, Dan and Dick. Minnie is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the caregivers, nurses and her roommate Hilda Krueger, at Granger Villa.

Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Providence Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Granger City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Harry Cervenka, Fred Homeyer, Dan Cervenka, Jimmy Gommert, Norman Landry and Daryl Repa.
