Anita Belle Kasner

Anita Belle Kasner, 79, of Thorndale passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Garden Ridge Assisted Living in Garden Ridge, Texas.

Anita was born October 1, 1931, to Guy and Connie B (Berry) Phillips in Thorndale, Texas on Bremond Ranch. She had 41 years of service at Alcoa in Rockdale, TX and 30 plus years on the Thorndale School Board. She did volunteer work at Saint Vincent and the Johns Community Hospital Auxiliary in Taylor, TX. Anita loved to cook, work in the yard, and spend time with friends and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Gus Adam Kasner III.

Anita is survived by a son, Timothy Lynn Kasner and wife, Ginger of Garden Ridge, TX; two sisters, Lanette Tucker of Thorndale, TX and Sue Whisnant and husband Larry of Friendswood, TX; and one brother, James Guy Phillips and wife, Judy of Thrall, TX.

Pallbearers will be Barton Felton, Rodney Phillips, Durwood Tucker, John Tucker, Lynn Tucker and Gaylan Tucker.

Visitation will be Monday, June 13, from 6 to 8 PM at Providence Funeral Home located at 807 Carlos Parker Blvd. NW in Taylor, TX. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 14 at 10 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 314 N 6th Street, Thorndale, TX with the Rev. Mel Swoyer officiating. Burial will follow at Thorndale City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
