Alice Virginia Grieger

Alice Virginia (Marek) Grieger went to her Heavenly home with her family by her side
on Friday, May 20, 2011 in Taylor, Texas.
The Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Providence Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2011 also at Providence Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Alice was born to Vince Marek Sr. and Amelia (Janek) Marek on April 29, 1929 in Granger, Texas.
Alice married Gilbert Grieger and was blessed with four children. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; daughter, Barbara Grieger; grandson, Keith Whatley; three brothers, Andrew, ET “ Sonny “ and Henry Marek; four sisters, Annie Mokry, Millie Pavlik, Victoria Roddy, and Helen Veselka.
Alice is survived by two daughters; Judy Whatley and husband Glen of Taylor; Marie Richter and husband Ken of Taylor; one son; John Grieger and wife Shauna of California; 8 grandchildren, Garrett Grieger, Lindsay Grieger, Lance Richter and wife Kris, Joshua Richter, Julie Patrick and husband Kelly, Jennifer Prinz and husband Scott, Laura Whatley and granddaughter-in-law, Heather Whatley; 5 great grandchildren; Tyler, Gage, and Taylor Prinz; Miranda Richter and Lane Richter; two brothers; Dan Marek and wife Susan of Austin, Vince “Jim” Marek and wife Isabel of Granger; one sister, Evelyn Klima and husband Alvin of Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Alter Society, KJZT, and Catholic Life.
Pallbearers will be her nephews; Frank Krenek Jr., Clifton Marek, Edwin Marek, Melvin Marek, Troy Marek, and Tom Pavlik.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family of Alice would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of SPJST Rest Home for their love and kindness that was shown to Alice during her stay there and also to Resolutions Hospice.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Alice’s honor to the SPJST Rest Home, Resolutions Hospice or the charity of your choice.
