Joseph Wayne Dowdy

Joseph Wayne "Loer" Dowdy, 19, passed away May 14, 2011.

JW will always be remembered by his love and compassion for his family and friends. JW never met a stranger. His beautiful smile will be forever remembered by all who knew him. JW was rarely seen without his “two women”, his Mom and sister, because they shared an unbreakable bond. He was blessed with an angel here on earth that he shared a deep love for, Mallory Myers. He loved his fishing trips with his Dad. He would do this all day and night if he were able. He loved going to the farm and spending time with his step-father, where they would hunt, fish and have fun. He and his Memaw had a special understanding, that in her eyes, he never did wrong. JW had such a love for life and was known to all his friends as the one who tried whatever they were doing first. JW was fortunate to be able to be an organ donor. Because of him, five families will not only have their loved ones longer, but the spirit of JW is living on through them. He would have had it no other way.

JW is survived by his mother Pamela Dowdy of Waco; father Joseph Wayne Loer, Sr. of Gatesville; step-father Charles Dowdy of Clifton; sister Halie Dowdy of Gatesville; grandparents: Gay Rutherford of Waco; Jim Rutherford of Desoto; Bill and Karen Dowdy of Waco and Cois Loer of Gatesville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

JW is preceded in death by his uncle David Rutherford; grandmother Joyce Loer; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be 9-11 AM Friday, May 20, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Clifton, TX. Celebration of Life Service will be 12:30 PM Friday, May 20, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Clifton, TX with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM Friday, May 20, 2011 at Bee House Cemetery, Pearl Community, TX.
