Ms. Bari Bryce Bodden
May 17, 1941- February 13, 2011
On May 17, 1941, a beautiful soul was born named Bari Bryce Bodden. Her childhood came to a close when she graduated from Lamar High school in 1959. She continued her education at the University of Houston where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism in 1963. Ms. Bodden worked at KTRH radio, and then she moved on to become assistant editor and illustrator at Gulf Publishing. In her personal life, she adored her Scotties and had a passion for knowledge and people. She traveled the world always looking for her next adventure. She always had a smile and a story for her friends and loved ones. On Sunday, February 13, 2011, Ms. Bodden went home with the Lord after a long fight with heart failure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Erna Bodden. Bari is survived by her aunts, Edna Werchan and Irene Boehm, and Irene’s children, Emzy Boehm and Judy Limmer, all from Taylor. She is also survived by other relatives in the Taylor area. She will truly be missed by all her friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Hudson officiating. Burial will be at the Taylor City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice or any local animal shelter.
