Nelda Vorwerk

Nelda Vorwerk, 95, of Taylor, died February 8, 2011.

She was born to William and Alvina (Meyer) Schroeder on March 15, 1915.

She was an avid gardener and a member of the Taylor Garden Club for many years. Nelda received “Yard of the Month” numerous times. She also did beautiful hand work with beads, stitching and sewing.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Allen R. Olson, Florence Lee Gunn and Richard A. Vorwerk; her brothers Albert T. Schroeder, Herbert Schroeder and Martin Schroeder; and her sisters, Dora Seggern, Hulda Seggern, Edna Steinke, Hilda Debus and Minnie Zieschang.

Nelda is survived by 9 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor, with Pastor Gary Veit officiating. Graveside will follow at 2:00 PM at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
