Albina (Naizer) Dykowski, 92, of Georgetown, TX, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2011. Albina was born on February 2, 1918, to Frank and Agnes (Stuchly) Naizer in Naizerville, TX. Albina married Ambrose John Dykowski on June 17, 1940 in Granger, TX and they lived on their farm in Davilla, TX and then moved to Granger where they lived until the death of Ambrose in 2000. Albina then moved to Georgetown, TX and lived at Park Place Assisted Living.
Albina was very involved in her community. She was a member and officer of the Granger Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and the Granger Volunteer Fire Department Pumper Race Team; member of the KD, and while her children were in school, an active member of the PTA. She always helped at all the church and school fundraisers as well. Albina enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, baking and sporting events. She was known for her wonderful kolaches! After retirement, Albina and Ambrose enjoyed traveling across the country with her sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Bennie Fojtik.
Albina was preceded in death by her husband and parents; brothers Ed Naizer, Frank Naizer and Bill Naizer; and sisters Vlasta Naizer Mikulencak and Evelyn Naizer Fojtik.
Albina is survived by her children and their families: son Len Dykowski and wife Beverly of Belton, TX, their son Chris of Dallas, TX; daughter Katy Van Sickler and husband Dustin of Houston, TX; son Brandon and wife Kiyomi of Austin, TX; son Jerry Dykowski and wife Anne of San Antonio, TX; daughter Charlotte Dykowski of Plano, TX; and daughter Natalie Manning and husband Mike of Houston, TX, their son Brad of Houston, TX and daughter Caroline of Austin, TX.
Great grandchildren are Scott and Ashley Dykowski of McKinney, TX and Olivia and Owen Van Sickler of Houston, TX.
Also surviving are brother-in-law Bennie Fojtik of Austin, TX and sisters-in-law Albina Naizer of Georgetown, TX and Cecilia Provaznik of Granger, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, TX. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, TX with Rev. Msg. Isidore Rozycki officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Granger, TX. Pallbearers are grandsons Chris Dykowski, Brandon Dykowski and Brad Manning; grandson-in-law Dustin Van Sickler; nephews Steven Fojtik and John Simcik.
Memorials may be given to St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School in Granger, TX in memory of Albina.
