Milton Carl Lange, Sr.

Milton Carl Lange Sr., 89, of Taylor, TX passed away January 27, 2011.

Milton was born February 26, 1921. On December 25, 1945 he married Ervie Falk who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents Ida and Fritz Lange; brother Reuben Lange; and granddaughter Ellen Lange Biehle.

Milton is survived by a son Milton Lange Jr. of Thorndale, TX; 3 daughters Patricia Niemtschk and husband Gerald of Thorndale, TX; Marjorie Menzel and husband Kenneth of Thorndale, TX; Iris Hoff and husband Leonard of Rockdale, TX; 1 sister Earline Klotz and husband Alfred; 1 brother Emery Lange and wife Selma; and 1 sister-in-law Violet Naivar.

He is also survived by grandchildren: Craig Lange and Desiree; Douglas Niemtschk and Jennifer; Vicky Laurence and Terry; Kevin Menzel and Jenna; Rev. Bobby Niemtschk and Lori; Cheryl Peterson and Jeff; Kirby Menzel; Carla Johnson and Andre; and Timothy Hoff.

Milton is also survived by great grandchildren: Chelsea Walker and Michael; Buchanan Biehle; Katelynne, Craig Jr. and Shawnee Lange; Kelsey, Cameron, Corbin and Caden Niemtschk; Dylan and Page Laurence; Simon and Anna Niemtschk; Kaleb, Jared, Nathan and Madeline Menzel; Tanner and Finley Peterson; and Aaron, Aiden and Bryson Johnson. He is also survived by great granddaughter Vada Jo Walker.

He served in the United States Army/Air Corps from April 1943 to October 1945 traveling all over the U.S. and Europe. He was a Flight Engineer and also Top Gunner on the B17 in WWII, flying 35 missions over Germany. He farmed for many years and then was a farm chemical salesman before his retirement. He enjoyed being with family and doing anything he was able for the VFW.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and had served as Adjutant for the several years for Post 4009 in Thorndale.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Providence Funeral Home, Taylor, TX.

Celebration of Life Services will be held Monday, January 31, 2011, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorndale, TX. Burial will be in the Taylor City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be nephews Richard Falk, James Klotz, Emery Lange Jr., Logan Brinkmeyer, Cren Naivar and Marty Ruble, neighbor.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the FW Post 4009 Members.
