Frank J Vrana

Frank Vrana (Frankie) died Monday, January 24, 2011 at home after a 2 year battle with lung cancer.

He was born in Taylor on November 26, 1949 to Emilie (Steffek) and Frank Vrana. He attended St. Mary’s School and graduated from Taylor High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy Reserves and spent 2 years active duty in Hawaii. In 1972 he married Charlotte Kruse Vrana who survives him.

He is also survived by his children Allison Vrana and Jason Vrana. Also surviving him are his mother Emilie Vrana; sisters Geraldine Faulkner, Marie (Larry) Svehlak, Kathy (David) Welch; and brother Kenneth Vrana. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Frank Vrana; infant brother Michael Vrana; brother-in-law Hubbard Faulkner, Jr.; father-in-law Delwood Kruse, Sr.; nephew Brent Svehlak; and niece Nicole Patschke.

He retired from DPS after more than 20 years. Memorials may be given to the Taylor Rodeo Association, Knights of Columbus or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Visitation and Rosary will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Providence Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27, 2011. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial at Prince of Peace Cemetery at Wuthrich Hill. Pallbearers will be his nephews Aaron Batla, Brandon Kruse, Steve Patschke, Jr., Phillip Patschke, Brandon Vrana, Bryan Vrana and Darrell Faulkner.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Taylor Rodeo Association, members of the Knights of Columbus, and friends Gary Johle, David Betak and Gilbert Kubicek.
