Pilar Garcia, 83, died January 9, 2011.

Visitation will be held 6PM Tuesday, January 11, 2011,with a Rosary at 7 PM at the Providence Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Pilar was born October 12, 1927, in Mexico to Marciano and Eulojia (Castanon) Garcia. He married Petra Lopez. Pilar enjoyed music and playing his guitar.

Pilar was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters.

Pilar is survived by wife, Petra Garcia, of Taylor; children Enriqueta Leyva of Houston; Pablo Garcia (Raquel) of Taylor; Francisco Garcia (Bernarda) of Houston; Teresa Pachicano (Larry) of Taylor; Hector Garcia (Karen) of Austin; and Alexandra Tripp (Patrick) of Hutto.

Pilar is also survived by grandchildren, Rodolfo Leyva, Jr. of Houston; Bernie Garcia of Pflugerville; Anne Thompson of Houston; Sandie Garcia of Georgetown; Larry Pachicano, Jr. of Taylor; Christopher Garcia of Houston; Samantha Pachicano of Taylor; Pablo Garcia, Jr. of Taylor; Susan Garcia of Taylor; Adriana Garcia of Houston; Savanah Tripp of Hutto; and Brandon Tripp of Hutto.

Pilar is also survived by great-grandchildren, Leah Thompson of Houston; Nathan Thompson of Houston; Christian Leyva of Houston; Eva Garcia of Pflugerville and Rayden Leyva of Houston.
