Kathleen Brinkmeyer

July 19, 1932 — January 7, 2011

Kathleen Brinkmeyer, a lifetime resident of Taylor, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on January 7th, 2011 surrounded by her family.

Kathleen (Kay) was born on July 19, 1932 at Wedemeyer Hospital in Taylor, Texas. A lifetime resident of Taylor, Kay graduated from Taylor High School in 1949. Kay met and married the love of her life, Marvin Brinkmeyer, in that same year. True love would prove to last over 61 years.
Starting off at Moss Jewelers, Kay worked as a Jewelry Sales Clerk, then went on to serve at Taylor ISD at Northside School for over 30 years. Many times Kay would express her love for the children and admiration for the staff. She made lifetime friendships and helped teach generations of Taylorites.
Kathleen was also a member of the Taylor Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Kay will be dearly missed by the whole congregation.
Kay was also known for her love of piano and her special skill on the instrument. Many nights were spent around the piano with friends and family reveling in her rare talent.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Thelma and Amos Barron and sister, Darlene Sitman.

Kay is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Brinkmeyer; sister, Yvonne Blackwell of Austin; son David and wife Doretha Brinkmeyer of Bastrop; 2 daughters Marsha and husband Eddy Pundsack and Rhonda Brinkmeyer, both of Taylor; 6 grandchildren, Liz and husband Jim Jero of Pflugerville; Melissa and husband David Cuebas of Taylor; Aaron and wife Jacqueline Pundsack of Round Rock; Sammie Russell; Steven Russell and Scott Russell; nieces Patty Blackwell; Brenda and husband, Marcus Bazile; great-niece Mesha Bazile; and nephew Jon Blackwell. Kay was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren, Ron Charles Meaker, Juliet and Madelyn Pundsack. Kay was referred to by all her grandchildren as “Granny” and Kay loved every moment with them and played a major role in each life.

Special thanks to Scott and White Hospice and the caring hands of Colleen Schmidt of Visiting Angels.

Kay’s passing leaves a vacant spot in many hearts, but she left us with many happy memories to share and remember to get us through the difficult moments.

Visitation and Memorial Service will be at Providence Funeral Home in Taylor, from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Officiating the service will be Richard Smith of the Bryan Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
