Sally Joyce Stuart

Sally Joyce Stuart, age 75 passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Scott & White in Temple. She was born June 14, 1943 in El Monte, Ca to Barbara Rosetta and William Franklin Simmons.

Sally grew up in Scranton, Texas. She married David William Stuart in 1961. She worked at a Toll operator in Cisco, Texas after graduation and transferred to Austin in 1963. She then worked at Austin Coca Cola and JB Goodwin Realtors.

Sally and David moved to Thorndale in 1994 and built their dream home. She loved her donkeys, loved watching the cattle, western swing, gambling, shopping, spending time with family. Sally had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. The last two years she lived in a 55 or older neighborhood. She made so many friends and absolutely loved the people and living there. She was very involved in the activities.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, David William Stuart; her parents; brothers Donnie Simmons and Bobby Jay Simmons; and sister Barbara Bostick.

She is survived by her daughter Pamela Harmon of Port O’Connor; her only grandson Stuart Harmon; sister-in-law Rose Marie Simmons; nieces Sondra Hutchinson and Karen Bostick; nephews Randall Simmons and Johnny Bostick; and numerous great nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm Thursday, November 15, 2019, Providence Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Friday, November 16, 2018, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Thorndale, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
